Only a true superhuman can run 7 marathons in 7 days – and this guy did it!

Sir Ranulph Fiennes (70) is one of those people considered unstoppable. His career is full of achievements of all sorts, but most of them are regarding explorations of the farthest corners of the planet.

Sir Fiennes served in the British army for eight years.

He was the first person ever to visit both Earth poles (North and South), and the first to completely cross the Antarctica on foot.

At the age of 65, he climbed the Mont Everest.

Fiennes is considered to be one of the greatest living adventurers, and the most famous explorer.

One of the most popular achievements by Fiennes was running 7 marathon races in just 7 days. The challenge is even harder if you know that he had a heart surgery just a few months before. The doctors approved of this marathon challenge, and said he can run all of them as long his heart-rate did not exceed 130 beats per minute. Fiennes later said that he forgot to pack his heart-rate monitor, so he didn’t even know.

The marathons took place in 2003 as follows:

26 October – Race 1: Patagonia - South America
27 October – Race 2: Falkland Islands - "Antarctica"
28 October – Race 3: Sydney - Australia
29 October – Race 4: Singapore - Asia
30 October – Race 5: London - Europe
31 October – Race 6: Cairo - Africa
1 November – Race 7: New York - North America

and the toughest one was in Singapore, because of the humidity and pollution.
